MPO/MTP/LC/SC/FC/ST/MTRJ/MU/E2000/DIN fiber patch cords. Although these different types of fiber optic patch cords have similar components (consisting of connectors and cables) and the same functions, there are differences in application scenarios due to their different characteristics and performance.

LC fiber patch cord
LC fiber optic patch cords are one of the most commonly used fiber optic patch cords in optical networks. Due to the LC connector with a diameter of 1.25mm, it is small in size and very suitable for high-density wiring, so it is widely used in computer rooms and data centers. .According to the different working modes of the interface, it is divided into LC simplex fiber jumper and LC duplex fiber jumper.

SC fiber patch cord
The SC fiber optic patch cord uses an SC connector with a diameter of 2.5mm ferrule, which is twice the size of the LC connector, so it is also called a large square connector (large square fiber optic patch cord). This fiber optic patch cord adopts a push-pull structure, which is plug and play, and has excellent performance. It is very suitable for telecommunication and data network systems, including point-to-point passive optical networks.

MPO/MTP Fiber Patch Cords
MPO/MTP fiber jumper is one of the common fiber jumpers in high-speed data communication systems such as 40G/100G direct connection and interconnection. MPO/MTP fiber jumper is a fiber jumper for multi-core fiber connectors, which can accommodate 6 to 144 fibers, and is currently the largest fiber jumper. MPO/MTP fiber patch cords are composed of optical fibers, sheaths, coupling elements, metal rings, pins (PIN pins), dust caps, etc., which are divided into poles and pins due to the number of fiber cores and cores. The male/female fiber patch cords of A/polarity B/polarity C have different applications due to different types, so it is necessary to select the appropriate MPO/MTP fiber patch cords according to the actual link conditions.

FC fiber patch cord
FC patch cables are the first patch cables to use ceramic ferrule connectors. Unlike LC patch cables and SC patch cables, it uses a connector that is a round helix made of nickel plated or stainless steel. type connector, use a threaded clip to secure it to the adapter or jack. Although the installation of the FC fiber patch cord is more complicated, it is still the most commonly used fiber patch cord for connecting optical time domain reflectometers. At first, FC fiber optic patch cords were also used in telecom and data network systems, but with the introduction of LC fiber optic patch cords and SC fiber optic patch cords, they were gradually withdrawn from the market.

ST fiber patch cord

ST fiber patch cord is a fiber patch cord developed and manufactured by AT&T after FC fiber patch cord. ST fiber optic patch cords use spring-loaded ceramic ferrule (2.5mm diameter) bayonet connectors with an insertion loss of about 0.25dB, which can be used in long and short distance applications such as campus networks, enterprise networks, and military applications. But in recent years, the market share of ST fiber optic patch cords and FC fiber optic patch cords has gradually declined.
